Using a Game to Learn Design

At times, the simplest games are the most effective. Whether due to financial reasons or administrative rules, low-tech and no-tech games can be extremely effective if they are well-designed and within understood limitations. During this week you will learn how to create a “Low-Tech/No-Tech” game, a simple yet effective means of teaching a concept to your learners using game strategies.

The goal of this project was to create a High-Tech and Low-Tech gaming concept that would engage or "sell" users into wanting to play the game while reinforcing the desired learning of concepts. While the games are not fully functional the presentations demonstrates the concept and purpose of the game and how the game would be played and the learning outcomes.
The audience for the gaming concept I designed were for all ages. By utilizing flash cards and a game board, the game can be mobile.
I really enjoy using Adobe Illustrator for the assets in gaming design, I wanted to have the native file editing ability for furture additions to the game. Being able to have that ability gives the learning objectives the room to grow into expansion packs.
